A Vibrant & Authentic Coffee Experience For my birthday, I wanted to try a new coffee shop in Cincinnati and came across this spot on CityBeat’s list of the Best Coffee Shops in Cincinnati. With that kind of recognition, I knew I had to check it out. As soon as I walked in, I was greeted by a colorful and vibrant atmosphere, with decorative palettes of red and yellow—a refreshing sight, especially during the colder months. The cafe is small yet inviting, with a quiet but lively energy—a great place to get work or homework done. I ordered a drip coffee in the yellow mug (for free refills),a side of oat milk at the counter, and to my surprise, the barista spoke Spanish, so I placed my order in Spanish. As a Latino, it was a great experience to use my first language in a local cafe, especially in Dayton, Kentucky a place where I didn’t expect it. During my visit, I met the owner, who shared the inspiring story of how he started this cafe in 2019 to showcase his Honduran roots through coffee and food. His son was also there, helping with orders, which made it feel like a family-centered business, something I love supporting. For food, I ordered their avocado toast, which was topped with scrambled eggs, cheese, and cilantro—all adding incredible depth and flavor. I asked for honey drizzled on top, which gave it a unique sweet yet balanced taste. I also tried their protein bowl with scrambled eggs, which was filling and cooked to perfection. The peppers and onions reminded me of my Mexican roots, similar to huevos a la mexicana. I added a little Cholula for an extra kick, but even without it, the food exceeded expectations—especially considering it’s a coffee shop. Overall, I will definitely be back to try their breakfast tacos and continue supporting this family-owned Latino business. It’s a gem for anyone looking for great coffee, delicious food, and an authentic cultural experience!

Being at Unataza is like being in your own home where the vibes are cozy, warm and welcoming. The coffee is fantastic (be sure to try the specials) and the food is even better (I can't come in without having a jaded cauliflower wrap with creamy jalapeno sauce ) and even fresh baked pastries. There's a play area for young kids so moms can actually take a moment to sip warm coffee and catch up and also lots of comfy seating for catching up on your favorite book or work I suppose. Definitely a must-go place in the Cincinnati area.

My favorite coffee shop to go to. The breakfast tacos and pistachio croissant are my go tos. I’ve been coming to Unataza for a few years now. I love that they do new drinks every month, I’m always stopping in to try them! My friends and family also all love coming here when I take them. Love the parking across the street too.

This is a unique little shop with some yummy dishes! The service was fast and the people (staff and customers alike!) were friendly. We enjoyed watching the patrons engage with one another and the three pups we saw during our visit. The breakfast tacos were fantastic. Worth the stop!
